swinging 1925

originally written for two dancers - two very different personalities/ forces - who gradually come to terms with each other and begin dancing together. the musical material tries to reflect this: contrasting keyboard motifs - a harmonic progression and later melody, and spikey, rhythmic patterns - gradually combine, until just one motif from each 'force' is left to finish the piece together.
